Humility and Discipleship

January 11, 2016 by Tim Sherfy

The life of Jesus was marked by humility, yet we who claim to be His followers rarely live with the same goal. We spend most of our days in vain pursuits, determined to climb the ladder, find happiness, avoid suffering, and generally promoting ourselves at every opportunity. While Jesus spent his life relinquishing His own glory, we spend our lives pursuing it.

Perfect Peace

January 7, 2016 by Tim Sherfy

Isaiah 26:3 says “You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You.” Reflecting on this verse, A.W. I wanted to revisit that topic and address those who already practice the discipline of a daily “quiet time”. I believe no matter how far along in your journey you are, no matter how much your life might already look like Jesus, there is always room for more growth and more learning.

It is not possible to fully understand God in hundreds of lifetimes, much less the single one we all possess. So if you are already regularly spending time in God’s presence, I have a few ideas to help you make that time more effective so you too will have your best year ever.
