Who are you? What defines your life? God says you are His child (Romans 8:15-16). He says you are loved and created in His image (Genesis1:27). You are His son and daughter, and you share in His inheritance alongside Jesus (Romans 8:17). Each of us has unsurpassable worth in the eyes of the Creator and God of the universe. You are not who your boss or your friends say you are.
You are not who your parents or family tell you you are. You are a child of the King, loved beyond measure and priceless in His plan. Your potential is unlimited. But know this: you will never reach your potential if you are letting anyone or anything else define your world or who you are in it.
In Christ, you are always enough. You always have everything you need to accomplish everything He’s given you to do. You are strong enough, talented enough, old enough, thin enough, and beautiful enough. You are perfect in His eyes. He sees you as He created you to be. Know you were intentionally designed just as you are to do things for the Kingdom of God only you can do. There is no one else who has your unique combination of passions, talents, and skills. While you may be one among millions in this life, you are wholly unique in the eyes of God. He sees you as you are and loves you with an overwhelming love unable to be understood or contained. His eye is always on you, watching you and loving you all along your journey.
We often fail to believe or understand such wonderful truths. We have an enemy who is (literally) hell-bent to destroy you and is always working to convince you you are so much less than who God says you are. The goal of the devil is to blind us to the truth. He brings fear and doubts to replace the love in our minds. When we look in the mirror he distorts the reflection, so we do not see the beauty God has placed within us and instead we see something ugly and shameful. Satan tries to convince us we will never be good enough and tells us we will never measure up. It is Satan who plants the seeds of doubt, despair, and incompetence. He is a liar and it’s all he can do (John 8:44).
Don’t fall for the lies and deceit of the devil. Remember who you are in Christ. Focus on who God says you are and how He sees you. Your life is destined for purpose in the Kingdom of God. You are more than you’ve ever imagined and not yet all you will be. Only Jesus has the right to tell you who you are. Satan has no claim on you; he is nothing but a bitter, desperate, and defeated enemy whose sole aim is to take you down with him. Jesus is the way to freedom, the unfailing truth, and the life you seek. Who are you? You are beautiful and wonderful in His eyes. You are the loved and cherished child of the King. You are who Jesus says you are.
