Even If i Walk Alone

Instructing and encouraging you to live your life as a disciple of Jesus

Jesus Is Sufficient

February 7, 2022 by Tim Sherfy

Jesus is sufficient for all things. He is sufficient for your needs, and He is sufficient to take care of everything in the universe. His capabilities are measureless and unfathomable. Yet this same God desires to know us intimately. If this doesn’t overwhelm you, nothing ever will. Jesus is our Creator and our biggest cheerleader. He’s our staunchest defender against the enemy.

Jesus is sufficient,faith,love,focus,sufficiency of Christ

He also is holy and demands we be holy as well. The Lord is slow to anger, but when His righteous anger is aroused, we must tremble in His presence. He loves us as much as He hates sin. The blood and mercy of Jesus are sufficient to cover our sins, while the ferocity of His judgment can destroy all who would dare rebel against Him.

Peter tells us Jesus is sufficient for everything we will encounter in life (2 Peter 1:3-4). No matter what we face, the glory and goodness of Christ provide what we need at that moment. The purpose of our lives is to glorify Jesus. He will always make a way for us to do that. We simply need to look for ways to glorify Him in all things. He’ll help. We just need to stay open and be willing to be used. His promises free us from sin and allow us to share in the riches of His glory. Jesus is sufficient for our lives.

Jesus is sufficient for all of creation. While Jesus focuses on you, His divine nature allows him to focus on what is going on throughout the universe at the same time. We can’t focus on more than one thing at a time, but for God, this is not a problem. It’s just one more reminder that He is God and we are not. He created everything on earth and everything beyond our world (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3). Even now, He holds all things together (Colossians 1:16-17). What an awesome God we serve!

Most important of all, Jesus is sufficient for our salvation. The work of Jesus on the cross provided salvation to any who will repent and ask for it. His work is complete (Hebrews 10:10-12). The death and resurrection of Jesus defeated the enemy once and for all and provided a path to eternal life for us. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Christ (John 14:6). He is the only way to eternal life, and Jesus is sufficient to save us all.

Jesus is sufficient for our sanctification and our glorification as well. His love for us is for the purpose of presenting us as holy and spotless before the Father and His own holiness (Ephesians 5:25-27). Everyone who responds to the call of Christ is justified before Him. He has been calling us since before our birth. He knows us and desires to be with us. If we will repent and confess Him as Lord, He will glorify us (Romans 8:30), and in doing so will bring glory to His Name.

Jesus is sufficient. He alone is perfect and holy. His perfection demands our worship. His sacrifice demands our obedience. There is no one like Jesus. His Name is above every name, and before Him, every knee will bow (Philippians 2:9-11). Jesus is sufficient for all your questions, all your needs, and all your devotion. Worship Him, for He alone is worthy to be praised.
