Jesus Christ has risen! He has risen indeed! The resurrection of Jesus is the defining moment in all of history. It is the pivotal event that divides our dating system. No event has ever made a greater impact on the world, and no event brings more joy to the hearts of those who trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord.
While Good Friday is a somber and reflective day, Easter is full of hope and celebration. But the celebration of Easter must not end when Monday morning arrives. He rose on Sunday, but on Monday we must remember He has still risen indeed. Our life has hope, meaning, and purpose only because the tomb remains empty today.
There is no shortage of things in this world to discourage us, make us afraid, and cause us to despair. These are the trademarks of Satan. The goal of the Devil is to keep you feeling defeated. The glory of Easter proves you are not defeated because Christ defeated death. In Him, you have overcome the world (John 16:33)! Nothing Satan or this fallen world throws at you can separate you from the everlasting and unfailing love of Jesus (Romans 8:38-39).
If you aren’t celebrating today, then you’ve forgotten that Jesus has risen. Rejoice that He has risen indeed. It is the great truth that gives us hope. We are conquerors and overcomers because of the victory Christ won over death (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). Regardless of what happens in this life, your eternity is secure with Jesus. Every sorrow will disappear. Every tear will evaporate. There is no sadness, no poverty, and no feeling of worthlessness in Heaven.
Because of the resurrection, we can live each day with purpose and confidence. Death no longer holds any power over us. What is there to fear (Psalm 27:1)? What can man do to us? Jesus has defeated death, granted us eternal life with Him, and extended His love, strength, and acceptance to all who will call Him Lord. There are no meaningless or forgotten lives in the Kingdom of God.
So today, rejoice that Jesus has risen indeed! His resurrection changed all of history and it changes your life. Fear no longer has a place in your heart because His perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:8; 1 John 4:18). Uncertainty need not cloud your thoughts because Jesus is unchanging and steady. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). You can place your faith in Him because He is trustworthy (Matthew 10:29-31; Matthew 6:31-33).
Jesus gave up everything to show He has power over life and death. There is nothing you will face He cannot handle. He created you in His image so you could glorify Him. Jesus knows you and He loves you. On this day, refuse to believe the lies of Satan. Refuse to believe life isn’t worth living or that you can never recover from what has happened to you. There is hope and life in Jesus. He died for your sins and rose again to defeat any power those sins could ever hold over you. By His blood, He has redeemed you. Jesus Christ has risen. He has risen indeed!
