When will you live for Jesus? It’s a question every person must answer in their lives. In fact, it’s a question we all answer with our lives. How we spend our days in some ways determines where we will spend eternity. I say this because if we love Jesus, we will reflect that love in the way we live. (John 14:15; 1 John 2:3-6) Someone who will spend eternity in Heaven will first have a transformed heart on earth. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ezekiel 36:26)

Even so, our sin nature is vicious and strong. (Romans 7:18-23; Galatians 5:17) The Devil will do everything in his power to keep us from living a life that looks like Jesus. (1 Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:11-12) We must decide every day whether we will listen to the father of lies or the Author of Life. (John 8:44; Acts 3:15)
So, when will you live for Jesus? You can’t do it yesterday. That opportunity has already passed you by. You had your chances then but chose not to embrace them. No matter how sorry you are for blowing it, there is not a single yesterday or missed opportunity you can even return to again. There’s no sense in dwelling on the past, lamenting what you should have done better. (Philippians 3:13-14; Isaiah 43:18) It’s over, and you must move on. To be sure, try to learn from your failures, but nothing you do today will ever change the fact that you didn’t decide to live for Christ the day before.
You can’t live for Jesus tomorrow because tomorrow may never come. What if it doesn’t, and all your plans and promises never see the light of day? What if you decide you’ll live for Jesus tomorrow and die today? We love to make grand plans and proclamations. We set goals and create five-year plans. Jesus mentioned someone like that and declared him to be a fool. (Luke 12:16-21; James 4:13-14) We don’t know what tomorrow will bring or if there even will be a tomorrow. Putting off living for Jesus today could be a tragic and fatal mistake.
When will you live for Jesus? It must be today. It must be right now! This moment is the only one guaranteed to us. This moment is the only one you get to decide how to spend. Waste it, and it’s gone. Delay it, and it may never come back around. Today is the day we must decide we will live for Jesus. He wants you to be saved. (2 Corinthians 6:2; 1 Timothy 2:3-4) He loves us with a love so great that we could never fathom it. (Ephesians 3:16-19; Romans 5:8)
What are you waiting for, a better offer? There won’t be one. Jesus is entitled to demand our obedience and worship because He is our Creator. (Colossians 1:16; John 1:3) He is holy, and we are not, which makes Him greater than us for that reason alone. (Isaiah 6:3; Romans 3:23) It’s not a question of whether He is worthy of our lives but an acknowledgment that we aren’t worthy of His. He sacrificed His glory, honor, and very life to shed His blood to cover our sins. Isn’t that enough for you? No one else loves you like Jesus. No one else has the power to deliver us from death into eternal life with Him. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) If we love Him, we will walk just as He did. (1 John 2:6) When will you live for Jesus?
