Even If i Walk Alone

Instructing and encouraging you to live your life as a disciple of Jesus

Why Do You Follow Jesus?

July 7, 2011 by Tim Sherfy

People choose to follow Jesus for many reasons. Many follow Him in an effort to reach Heaven and, by default, escape the fiery depths of Hell. Others follow Him because they see Him as a wise and moral teacher.

Doubting Your Faith

July 5, 2011 by Tim Sherfy

Many of us have doubts from time to time when it comes to our faith in God. Is it really worth it? Is it actually true? Is there really a God? I don’t think God is afraid of our questions or put off by our doubt. He wants us to choose Him, and making a choice requires consideration of all the facts involved.

Understanding Your Purpose

July 3, 2011 by Tim Sherfy

I’m not sure we get it. Life is incredibly short in the grand scheme of things, yet we live each day as if we have an endless supply. Aligning our priorities, getting our finances in order and doing something about the “Jesus thing” always seem to be something we’ll work on tomorrow.

June 30, 2011 by Tim Sherfy

I want to start with a disclaimer: I currently attend a large church (4,000+ attendees each week). Large Church

This is not an indictment of any church based solely on their size. I know of many good things being done by large churches across the world. As I study the New Testament model for churches however, I am struck by how far we have deviated from that original design. [Read more…] about How Big is Too Big?

A Life above Reproach

June 28, 2011 by Tim Sherfy

Jesus lived a life above reproach. Though He was tempted just as we are, He did not sin. Emulating His life is the Holy Grail for those of us who desire to follow Him. Living a sin free life is pretty much guaranteed to be impossible, but why is that? Why do we find it so difficult to live a life of purity and devotion? After all, every time we sin it is because we choose to do so. Couldn’t we just choose not to and live a life more pleasing to God?
