Even If i Walk Alone

Instructing and encouraging you to live your life as a disciple of Jesus

Kingdom of God

Daily Time with God

January 4, 2016 by Tim Sherfy

I closed out last year with a two part series titled, “Your Best Year Ever”, which focused on establishing a consistent daily time spent alone with God. I wanted to revisit that topic and address those who already practice the discipline of a daily “quiet time”. I believe no matter how far along in your journey you are, no matter how much your life might already look like Jesus, there is always room for more growth and more learning.

My Kingdom Go

November 26, 2015 by Tim Sherfy

Commenting on Aldous Huxley’s quote, “My kingdom go is the necessary corollary to Thy kingdom come”, A.W. Tozer said, “His kingdom can never be realized in my life until my own selfish kingdom is deposed. I have become convinced we spend our days either building the Kingdom of God or tearing it down. I don’t believe there is anything in between. There is no gray area in Kingdom work. Our lives are being spent either building the Kingdom or destroying it. Maybe that seems a little harsh. It definitely is not a comfortable thought. We’re aware of when we are doing Kingdom work.

It feels good and we know we’re fulfilling our purpose and doing the work we were created to do. Most of us also recognize the time we spend building the Kingdom makes up a very small portion of our lives. If you’ve never given it much thought, reflect on the past week and try to quantify how much time you spent building the Kingdom of God. Warning: this is a depressing exercise.
